Photo courtesy of www.Funlake.com There are so many events that happen over the summer at Lake of the Ozarks, sometimes even the locals have trouble keeping up!  The one event that always ends the summer on a positive note is the Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest on September 17th- 20th.  There are several parts to Bikefest, and they occur all over the Lake.  Here's a look at what to expect this year at the great summer-end event! Featured Bike Rides  The Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest   features some exclusive rides through the beautiful landscape found only at Lake of the Ozarks.  The first of these rides is Around the Lake, which circles the main channels and spotlights the huge swath of land that the Lake covers.  The ride lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes, covering 95.7 miles. Labor Day Weekend is upon us! The team at Gattermeir Davidson has no idea how this summer flew by so quickly, but we do know one thing: we definitely intend to make the most of this holiday weekend!  Labor Day Weekend serves as a great excuse to grab your boat or waverunner and head out onto the water for a final summer sendoff. The Gala of the Trees starts tonight at Bootleggers!! This event is a unique holiday experience that offers Trees for auction that have been decorated and donated by local businesses.  The trees will be sold during a silent auction starting tonight at 5:30pm and ending Saturday, November 23rd.  Proceeds from the sale of the trees will be given to Candyland to help provide holiday gifts for local children in need. It's almost time for the Annual Fall Harbor Hop and boating enthusiasts from all over the Midwest will come to the Lake to say farewell to the 2013 boating season.  Many refer to this event as the "un-official" end of the boating season at the Lake of the Ozarks, although many times I have seen boaters out much later in the year! Either way, mark your calendars for this Saturday October 12, 2013!  You will have the opportunity to visit more than 40 participating restaurants and marinas to fill your poker hand with the chance of compiling a winning hand!!  A $15 donation per hand at any of the checkpoints will get you in the game and give you a chance to win prizes.  Feeling LUCKY?  Don't worry, you can enter more than once!!  Here's how you play... It's almost time for the 13th Annual Wing Ding!!  If you're a "wing lover," this is one event that you won't want to miss!!  Spicy, tangy, sweet, HOT, SMOKIN HOT...no matter how you like 'em, you're sure to find one that is just right for you!! AquaPalooza, one of the BEST Family Friendly Events at Lake of the Ozarks, will return  July 20, 2013!!   This boating event is a celebration of the boating lifestyle and features the largest on-water concert at the Lake of the Ozarks!! AquaPalooza is the name given to a series of on-water events hosted by Sea Ray.  The events are held during the last two weekends in July at more than 100 locations around North American and abroad.   Thousands of people will be in attendance for the AquaPalooza at Dog Days Bar & Grill on July 20th - you won't want to miss it!! We can feel the excitement in the air!!  Everyone has been talking about it and anticipating the return of the 2013 Lake Race and this event is finally here!!  With the support of our community and hard work of many people,  the Powerboat racing will return the Lake of the Ozarks June 6th-9th!!  The "hub" of all the excitement will take place at the 0mm and Beavers at the Dam Bar & Grill will be the host and location for the race docks.  The event will feature many different types of races, vendor villages and all the excitement of the Bagnell Dam Strip!  There will also be many different locations that will provide a great venue and view for the upcoming race.   Here is the schedule of the events. The Lake of the Ozarks Spring Harbor Hop is coming up on May 4th, 2013!!  We have had some crazy spring weather, but this event is a top indicator that the boating season has officially arrived!! The Harbor Hop is an event in which participants “hop” from different participating waterfront restaurants and marinas to draw playing cards and hopefully build a winning poker hand.  The poker hands make you eligible to win a variety of valuable prizes. Players donate $15 per seven card hand and the fun starts as they hop around the Lake to draw their hand at any of the 30+   participating restaurants and marinas around the Lake.
