5 Brilliant Kitchen Organization Ideas
Home organization... that necessary evil in all of our lives. If there's one thing all homeowners at the Lake of the Ozarks can agree on, it's that you can never truly be finished organizing your home - but that doesn't mean it's not worth the effort!
Having a beautifully or cleverly organized home can make your life much easier while giving you a unique sense of pride that only homeowners can fully understand. Organizing your whole home is an ambitious undertaking, so it's usually a smart idea to only tackle one room at a time. For this post, the Gattermeir Davidson Real Estate Team put their heads together to come up with some of our favorite kitchen organization ideas.
Get Hooked
Never underestimate the power of adhesive hooks! Incredibly affordable and easy to install, these brilliant little inventions are an organizer's dream in the kitchen. Stick them anywhere - inside your cabinets, alongside your cabinets, hutches, or refrigerator - to store anything from dishrags to mixing spoons. Your life will never be the same!
Make The Most of a Sticky Situation
Are there certain recipes that you're always digging through your cookbooks or recipe box to find? Gather your favorite recipes and tape them to the inside of your cabinet. You'll never have to waste time tracking them down again - and you'll save them from any more cooking stains!
Think Outside of the Box
Who says all of your little boxes have to take up valuable drawer space? Tape or glue magnets on the side your frequently used boxes (those containing Ziploc bags, tin foil, saran wrap, etc) and stick them on the side of your fridge. They'll be much more easily accessible, and your drawers will be free to hold other things.
Tiny tupperware containers are good for storing more than just food! Use small, clear containers to store miscellaneous items that are notorious for cluttering up kitchens, such as twist-ties, rubber bands, and clothespins. We even heard of someone who designated one of these little containers to holding Band-Aids so they could avoid a run to the bathroom in the event of a kitchen-related accident.
Spice It Up
We came up with several great ideas for organizing your spice cabinet. One option is to put your spices in a drawer, rather than a cabinet, and use sticky notes or tape and a permanent marker to write the names of the spices on top of their lids. This way, all you have to do is slide your drawer open and scan the tops of the lids to find the one you need. You can also place a cookie sheet underneath all of your spices in the cabinet, so you can slide them all out at once to find the one need more easily.
We hope you find these kitchen organization ideas helpful! By following these simple suggestions, you'll be well on your way to designing your beautiful home at the Lake of the Ozarks.
