Where Will You Be Trick-or-Treating at This Year?
Attention all goblins and ghouls, witches and wizards, princesses and superheros! One of our favorite holidays is almost among us... which means it's almost TRICK OR TREAT time! Do you know what you and the kiddos are doing this Halloween? The Lake of the Ozarks has several spooky activities that are great for the entire family taking place all over. If you're looking for safe public places to take the kids trick or treating this year, check out the list of events below!
Visit the Hy-Vee Parking lot for the annual Hy-Vee Hollow Trick-or-treat event! New this year: this is a FOOD ALLERGY FRIENDLY EVENT! Each booth will have candy and non-food treats! Hy-Vee will be supporting the Teal Pumpkin Project in donating a separate bucket of non-food treats to each booth for those kids who have food allergies. They will provide children with food allergies a teal bag or necklace at the entrance. Admission for this event is $2.00 per child. All of the proceeds will be donated to two local organizations - The Dream Factory and Camp Wonderland. Refreshments will be provided for the kids.
8:00 a.m. - 3K Haunted Fun Run – Report to Lake Ozark Coney Island
9:00 – 11:00 a.m. - Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. - Trick or Treat on the Bagnell Dam Strip; Games of Skill & Cookie Walk at Luby’s Plaza
4:00 p.m. - Costume Contest & Pie Eating Contest at Luby’s Stage
5:00 – 8:00 p.m. – TEEN NIGHT: Scary movie, bonfire and Dance Party!
After 9:00 – Adult fun with costume contests, bands and entertainment at participating establishments.
From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. continues the traditions of Trick or Treat at participating Bagnell Dam Strip businesses, Games of Skill for prizes and the Cookie Walk at Luby’s Plaza. At 4:00 the Costume Contest with several age categories and one best group costume, all compete for prizes on Luby’s Stage. Immediately following is a Pie Eating Contest for kids and for adults.
Additions to the schedule include an 8:00 a.m 3K Haunted Fun Run. The run starts at Lake Ozark Coney Island/Sugar Shack Ice Cream and will run past the Heritage Elementary School. Back at Coney Island, a $5 pancake breakfast from 9:00 – 11:00 will raise funds for BDSA special events. Another new activity is TEEN NIGHT. From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., the evening features a scary movie, a bonfire and Dance Party with DJ Bob Dodd. After the full day of family activities, night comes to life on the Bagnell Dam Strip with a little spice for the adults!
Bring your little ghosts & goblins to Captain Ron's to grab some loot! Several local businesses will be handing out goodies!
A safe, free, family-friendly trick or treating experience will be held at Splatz Paintball from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, October 31st. Music, contests, fun and games will be held both indoors and outdoors.
Now you know of at least 4 different places around the Lake of the Ozarks that you and your kids can trick or treat and visit some of the local businesses!
